Sup Scoop- Joe Beckman on Jan. 10
March 2020. A time most of us can vividly recall and associate with terms like COVID-19, pandemic, distance learning, social isolation, and more. It was a time that for many of us, almost seems surreal to think back upon. We’ve learned a great deal about many things since March of 2020. Things that we may never have imagined we would learn about. We also likely experienced things that again, were unlikely to happen without the surreal times that took place nearly two years ago.
Since that time, nearly every day we learn something new that pops up as a result of what has likely become known as the “Spring Shutdown of 2020”. The unfortunate part to this, is that it is unlikely that we will ever truly know the full impact the shutdown had for many of us, both children and adults alike. Every one of us dealt with the shutdown differently, and felt the impact differently. However, what we can all say is this: it has become very apparent how truly important every human connection matters. And that is why I think it is more important now than ever to hear the message delivered by Joe Beckman.
Just one short week after the shutdown of 2020 BEA Schools had an incredible speaker booked to speak to our full student body, our staff, and you - our community. At the time, we were simply emphasizing the importance of how each and every relationship, connection, and human contact was to our BEA family. Unfortunately, we were never able to hold that event due to the pandemic and state shutdown. Since that time, our BEA staff have continued to work with Joe and his business partner - Curt Slater - in an effort to continue emphasizing the importance of relationships with our students and taking care of ourselves. At long last, I am so excited to share that we have found a date to bring Joe Beckman back to BEA to connect with our K-12 students, staff, and our community. And, the timing couldn’t be any better than now to hear how each and every one of us can make a difference - for ourselves, our children, and our community - simply by focusing on the importance of our connections and relationships with one another.
We invite you all to join us in the BEAHS Performing Arts Center for this incredible evening on Monday, January 10 to hear Joe’s message and to leave motivated and inspired. BEA Schools is offering a free pizza dinner prior to Joe’s presentation beginning at 5:30 pm in Unity Hall at the High School. We are also offering free childcare during the presentation where our students and staff will be interacting with your kiddos in the High School Media Center so you can sit back and enjoy the presentation without having to worry about your children (although you are more than welcome to bring them with you to hear Joe if you prefer as well). This is sure to be a highlight of your January, and a great way to kick off 2022! Join us and bring a friend (or four) to the BEAHS Performing Arts Center on January 10 @ 6 pm for this free event; we guarantee you won’t regret it!
