At Blue Earth Area Schools, we are committed to ensuring that every student has the tools and support they need to reach their full academic potential. One key way we do this is through our Title I program, which provides targeted instructional support to help students meet essential learning goals.

Blue Earth Area Schools receives federal Title I funding each year, which we use to offer additional support services for our elementary students. In our K-7 building, Title I programming is available school-wide at the elementary level, benefiting all students who need assistance. This funding allows us to employ two veteran teachers dedicated to helping students strengthen their academic skills.

Our Title I teachers work closely with classroom teachers, using universal assessment data to pinpoint specific areas where students may be experiencing challenges. Through this data-driven approach, we identify learning gaps and provide small group and individual instruction focused on critical areas such as:

·        Reading: Phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and comprehension

·        Math: Number sense, patterns, and other foundational math skills

Instructional groups are designed to be flexible, with students moving in and out of support as their skills develop. Regular progress monitoring ensures that each child receives the right level of support for as long as they need it. Importantly, Title I instruction is provided in a way that complements classroom learning—it does not pull students away from their core instruction but instead adds an extra layer of support where it's needed most.

Through this thoughtful and responsive approach, our Title I program plays a vital role in helping students build confidence and achieve success in reading and math. We are proud to provide these resources as part of our ongoing mission to support every learner, every day.
