🤩🎉Congratulations to Mrs. Lauren Sturtz (elementary) and Mrs. Heather Hernandez (middle school), winners of the first ever K-7 Buc Pride Awards! Both were nominated by multiple colleagues for their efforts and leadership. Here are a few of the comments below to highlight them. Mrs. Sturtz: ⭐️"Lauren deserves to be recognized for her leadership in Kindergarten this year. She has helped lead her team through several transitions with both staff and students and continues to provide support to her team to ensure quality tier 1 instruction is happening for our youngest students where the foundational skills are so important. She has made modifications in the the schedule to maximize learning and intervention time. Lauren has helped to lead the charge for our skills based model during intervention time as well helping make sure we are targeting the skills our students need the most. In the classroom Lauren provides her students with top notch instruction and is continually finding new ways to challenge their learning. She has built a community in her classroom of mutual love and respect for all!" ⭐️"Lauren has gone above and beyond keeping our team running, on track, and organized!" ⭐️"She is the most compassionate caring person. She works everyday to make sure that we get to the things that we need to get to in class. She is also one who works very hard and you can tell she just cares about her job." Mrs. Hernandez: ⭐️"Well, without throwing myself under the bus, I realized quickly that my previous careers did not prepare me for being a 7th grade Science teacher. HH should be given a cape and not a trophy because her mentorship and classroom guidance is HANDS DOWN why I feel like I can overcome any teaching obstacle. OH and she also thinks of things that I would not even know to think about. Literally, I appreciate her and how about that video she recorded for the first flex-learning day - she is a real MVP!" ⭐️"Heather is a great leader and teacher to her 6th grade Science students. She is always willing to help with the Q comp Program and any other programs needed to make our school a better place. The students love her class and love learning about Science!" ⭐️"Heather puts a lot of time, effort, and care into her students and her colleagues. She is dependable and is a great leader in the middle school." ⭐️"Heather is even-keel, fun, dedicated and caring. I know that she has inspired students to think about becoming teachers themselves!" Congrats to both of our very deserving winners! #beabucpride

This week at Blue Earth Area Schools, we recognize the incredible paraprofessionals we are fortunate to have here at BEA. Superintendent Mandy Fletcher sent a staff email earlier in the week that sums up our appreciation perfectly: "As the child of a parent who worked as a paraprofessional for many years, I deeply understand the dedication, care, and effort our paras put forth every single day to support our BEA students. Their commitment and heart make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many. While this week has been officially declared Paraprofessional Recognition Week by the Governor, our gratitude for the talent, compassion, and hard work of our paras extends far beyond just these few days. They are an integral part of what makes BEA—and our students—thrive. Thank you to our wonderful paras for your contributions to making BEA such a special place!" #beabucpride

UPDATE REGARDING THE RESCHEDULED WINTER CHEER CLINIC: On Monday Evening, January 27, at Blue Earth Area High School Gym, by 5:45 pm, we ask you to bring your Cheer Clinic Athlete to the High School Unity Hall Commons, so we can have a full refresher practice, before the game. Please have your athlete dressed in black shorts/capri’s, TENNIS/ATHLETIC SHOES, along with the clinic t-shirt, and make sure they have their shaker poms. Hair should be IN A PONYTAIL, with their ribbon, and PLEASE NO JEWELRY. Please make sure your Athlete has eaten PRIOR to the practice time. After the athletes have practiced/warmed up, they will sit together, in the stands, as a group, when the game starts, about 7: 15/7:30pm. During this time, the Athletes will be cheering on the Basketball Team, from the stands, along with the Blue Earth Area Varsity Cheerleaders. The expectation is that they Sit, Watch and Cheer. No running around to do this or that, get extra food, etc. They are allowed to have their water bottles with them. Please help your Athlete understand this. The Cheerleaders and Athletes will line up in Unity Hall, with 3 minutes left in the first half. When the first half of the game is complete and the Basketball players and Officials have left the court, the Athletes will Spirit on, and provide a fun-filled half-time show. K-4-5-6 Graders will perform on the Home Side; Grades 1-2-3 will perform on the Players Bench Side. When their performance is finished, they will be lining up to form a tunnel for the BEA Varsity Basketball Players, by the southeast end of the court. When the Basketball Players have completed entering the court, at the end of the half, the Cheer Clinic Athletes are free to leave with their Guardian. We hope this has been a fun experience for you and your Athlete! Please consider participating in our next Clinic. Watch the Community Education booklet for details! Thank you for the fun! Allie, Tiffany, Layla, Juli, Lexi, Vanessa, Liberty, Lily, Kenzi, Alexis and Coach Rachel The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer Cheerleaders!

Digging into Learning...Literally! Mrs. Dressler's Begindergarten class traded in their crayons for chisels and became pint-sized paleontologists for the day! After unearthing some dinosaurs, these young explorers made their own fossils using salt dough. Talk about a dino-mite learning experience! We can't wait to see what other discoveries they'll make this year...or what kind of messes they'll dig up! #beabucpride
