Kindness looks good on you! 💙✨During Random Acts of Kindness week in the elementary and middle schools, dress up, spread joy, and make someone's day! Let’s have fun being kind!

At last week's Better Than B's Breakfast, middle school Honor Roll students and their families learned about FariCARES.
FariCARES’ goal is to support Faribault County youth and promote positive change when it comes to substance abuse. Blue Earth Area Schools has joined FariCARES in their work to make positive changes. The coalition is made up of hopeful and concerned Faribault County Community members and meets monthly in Wells, MN.

🤩🎉Congratulations to Mrs. Lauren Sturtz (elementary) and Mrs. Heather Hernandez (middle school), winners of the first ever K-7 Buc Pride Awards! Both were nominated by multiple colleagues for their efforts and leadership. Here are a few of the comments below to highlight them.
Mrs. Sturtz:
⭐️"Lauren deserves to be recognized for her leadership in Kindergarten this year. She has helped lead her team through several transitions with both staff and students and continues to provide support to her team to ensure quality tier 1 instruction is happening for our youngest students where the foundational skills are so important. She has made modifications in the the schedule to maximize learning and intervention time. Lauren has helped to lead the charge for our skills based model during intervention time as well helping make sure we are targeting the skills our students need the most.
In the classroom Lauren provides her students with top notch instruction and is continually finding new ways to challenge their learning. She has built a community in her classroom of mutual love and respect for all!"
⭐️"Lauren has gone above and beyond keeping our team running, on track, and organized!"
⭐️"She is the most compassionate caring person. She works everyday to make sure that we get to the things that we need to get to in class. She is also one who works very hard and you can tell she just cares about her job."
Mrs. Hernandez:
⭐️"Well, without throwing myself under the bus, I realized quickly that my previous careers did not prepare me for being a 7th grade Science teacher. HH should be given a cape and not a trophy because her mentorship and classroom guidance is HANDS DOWN why I feel like I can overcome any teaching obstacle. OH and she also thinks of things that I would not even know to think about. Literally, I appreciate her and how about that video she recorded for the first flex-learning day - she is a real MVP!"
⭐️"Heather is a great leader and teacher to her 6th grade Science students. She is always willing to help with the Q comp Program and any other programs needed to make our school a better place. The students love her class and love learning about Science!"
⭐️"Heather puts a lot of time, effort, and care into her students and her colleagues. She is dependable and is a great leader in the middle school."
⭐️"Heather is even-keel, fun, dedicated and caring. I know that she has inspired students to think about becoming teachers themselves!"
Congrats to both of our very deserving winners!

This week at Blue Earth Area Schools, we recognize the incredible paraprofessionals we are fortunate to have here at BEA.
Superintendent Mandy Fletcher sent a staff email earlier in the week that sums up our appreciation perfectly:
"As the child of a parent who worked as a paraprofessional for many years, I deeply understand the dedication, care, and effort our paras put forth every single day to support our BEA students. Their commitment and heart make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many.
While this week has been officially declared Paraprofessional Recognition Week by the Governor, our gratitude for the talent, compassion, and hard work of our paras extends far beyond just these few days. They are an integral part of what makes BEA—and our students—thrive.
Thank you to our wonderful paras for your contributions to making BEA such a special place!"
