Happy Career & Technical Education Month! 🎉
We’re proud to offer so many incredible CTE opportunities in our district—hands-on skills that prepare students for life beyond the classroom, including AFNR (Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources), Business, and FCS (Family and Consumer Sciences). Thank you to our outstanding teachers—Ms. Vogltance, Mr. Milbrandt, Ms. Mandler, and Ms. Fischer—for inspiring future careers every day! 👏

Congrats to our BUC PRIDE winners for Quarter 2 of the 2025-2026 School Year! Each quarter, Buc PRIDE award winners are chosen through a collaboration of high school staff and National Honor Society members. In the spring, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders are invited to apply for NHS membership based on their GPA. Membership is awarded based upon academics, service, character, and leadership. #beabucpride

National School Counseling Week (Feb. 2–6) celebrates the incredible impact school counselors have on student success—from academics to emotions to planning their futures. Let's take a moment to thank our Student Success Coordinator, Jessica Holland!

Last week, the BEA High School Bands welcomed guest Ben Faugstad. Ben is the band director and music professor at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. Ben recently wrote a composition titled "Octavius" that the BEA concert band has been working on for our upcoming Large Group contest and concert. Students had the opportunity to work in sectional lessons and have rehearsal with Mr. Faugstad. This was a wonderful experience for the students to get to work in person with the composer of one of their selections.

We had a great day of partnership and collaboration at Blue Earth Area High School during our annual Health Science Mobile Lab! This event continues to strengthen partnerships with UHD, Faribault/Martin County Public Health, area community health care professionals, all working together to expose our 8th grade students to the health science career pathway. Students had the opportunity to use state-of-the-art equipment, explore careers, and practice skills needed in a variety of health science fields—an engaging, hands-on experience that highlights the power of community collaboration.
Thank you to our community partners: UHD-Adam Grant, Megan Hanson-Haase, Kelsey Hodges, Alex Wenkheimer, School Nurse, Ann Crofton, Public Health Nurses-Dani Nelson and Becca Sokoloski, and our HOSA students, Sydney, Berkley, Caitlyn and Isabella

🗳️🏛️ Learning Beyond the Classroom! 🏛️🗳️
Last week, some of our high school juniors--along with students from USC and Maple River--had an incredible experience at County Government Day, getting a behind-the-scenes look at how local government works. Students toured the courthouse, met with the judge, observed real court cases, and even sat in on a County Commissioners meeting, gaining first hand insight into local decision-making.
They also visited the law enforcement center, public works department, DMV, Drainage, 4H, Soil and Water, GIS, and Planning and Zoning, learning about the many services and career opportunities that support our community.
To top it off, students enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by the Blue Earth American Legion Auxiliary—thank you for your hospitality and support! During lunch, students had the opportunity to hear from local probation officers and the veterans service coordinator, gaining even more perspective on community services and careers.
