The purpose of Early Childhood Screening is to...

  • Increase parent understanding of child's health, development and school readiness.

  • Identify conditions and risk factors that may affect a child's ability to learn and develop, make referrals for further assessment.

  • Link families to parenting resources and preventive health care.

A Parent Should Schedule an Early Childhood Screening Because...

  • It identifies, at an early age, any hearing, vision, growth or development needs.

  • It gives the parent valuable information about their child, information about school readiness and community resources.

  • It is required by the state of Minnesota before entrance into public school kindergarten.

Earlier is better!  The screening changes with the age of your child, so there is no reason to wait.

Is your child 3 or older? Call 507-526-3172 to schedule an appointment on our next screening date.

Screening Days are held at Blue Earth Area Schools two times per year--Spring and Fall.
